Individual Therapy with
Children & Teens
Dr. Freeman works with children, teens, and parents to address mental health issues, as well as developmental, social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and solution-focused. She uses a variety of therapeutic tools, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and play therapy to help support children’s healthy functioning.
Common reasons for referral to Dr. Freeman include:
- Anxiety and related issues, such as physical symptoms of stress, school avoidance, perfectionism, adjustment and transition difficulties
- Depression and low mood, including self-esteem issues and self-harm behaviours
- Social difficulties, including issues related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (e.g., parent support, adjustment to diagnosis, and individual therapy for children and teens)
- Emotion regulation difficulties and behaviour management
- Identity issues, including LGBTQ+ questions
- Parenting consultations
- Parent-child relationships
