Assessment
Psycho-Educational Assessments
A psycho-educational assessment helps parents understand their child’s strengths and needs, identify learning difficulties or giftedness, and helps the child’s school team better understand their learning style.
Psycho-Educational Assessments are recommended when:
- A child is struggling academically and there are concerns about learning differences or a learning disability
- There are concerns about developmental delays or an intellectual disability
- There are questions about whether the child is a gifted learner
Diagnostic and adaptive assessments
Diagnostic assessments determine whether your child meets criteria for a specific developmental condition, such as ADHD or ASD, or a mental health concern, such as depression or anxiety.
Adaptive functioning assessments are also offered, which help determine whether a youth or young adult is eligible for services through Community Living BC.
